The DMK TRANSALP is a charity crossing of the Alps in aid of the DUMUSSTKÄMPFEN! initiative for children suffering from cancer. The route leads from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Merano and was specially designed for DUMUSSTKÄMPFEN! The start is in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which is characterized by the flair of the Winter Olympics. The route continues through the Wetterstein mountain range past the Zugspitze to the beautiful Seebensee lake in the Miemminger Kette. Over the Grünsteinscharte, the route leads down into the Inn Valley to the magnificent Cistercian monastery in Stams. From there, the route follows the Ötztal valley past Sölden to Obergurgl. The main Alpine ridge is finally crossed at the Langtaler Joch (3,031 m). The route leads over the Passo Gelato to the colorful Spronser Seen lakes above Dorf Tirol. The largest high alpine lake district in the Eastern Alps consists of ten high mountain lakes, which are among the most beautiful mountain lakes in the entire Alpine arc. The destination of the Alpine crossing is the Bolzano Gate in the historic city center of the Alpine-Mediterranean spa town of Merano.
