Verona, IT
Description

It is the classic “out-of-town” trip for Verona’s residents, popular in every season of the year, especially in the intermediate seasons and in winter. Conceived and created in 1980 by Renzo Giuliani, a historic figure in Veronese mountaineering and hiking to whom it was later dedicated, the route is marked in yellow and blue, the colors of the city of Verona. It winds along the scenic hills just outside the city, from the district of Parona to that of Montorio, passing through the villages of Quinzano, Avesa, Poiano, and Novaglie.

The landscape consists of terraced slopes cultivated with olive trees and vines, dotted with farmhouses and numerous villas scattered across the hills overlooking the city. Only in the final section, after the village of Poiano, does the scenery change slightly due to the flat crossing of the Valpantena, before returning once again—among olive terraces and vineyards—to the hilly landscape between Novaglie and Montorio.
