Eagle Mountain Ridgeline

I didn’t grow up in Eagle Mountain or around these mountains. After moving here four years ago, I found myself drawn to the ridgeline that rises above the city. Every run led me a little farther, a little higher, and eventually the idea formed to connect the entire ridge into one continuous effort.

The Eagle Mountain Ridgeline is the result of that exploration, a route designed to showcase the best climbing, views, and terrain the area has to offer. Covering approximately 19 miles with more than 4600 feet of elevation gain, it links steep ascents, rolling ridgelines, and fast descents into one demanding but rewarding challenge.

The route primarily follows established dirt roads and singletrack, with long exposed sections offering uninterrupted views of Utah Valley, Utah Lake, the Oquirrh Mountains, and the Wasatch Front. There is very little shade, and weather can change quickly, making hydration and preparation critical, especially during the warmer months.

This route isn’t about chasing a famous peak or an established classic. It’s about discovering adventure in your own backyard and seeing familiar hills from a new perspective. What began as a local training run became a route worthy of standing on its own, a complete traverse of the Eagle Mountain ridgeline that tests endurance, climbing strength, and mental toughness.

Whether you’re attempting the Fastest Known Time or simply looking for a memorable day on the trails, the Eagle Mountain Ridgeline is an opportunity to experience the rugged beauty overlooking one of Utah’s fastest-growing communities and prove that world-class adventures can start just outside your front door.
