Description

This route is a loop consisting of about 5 miles of logging/access roads/Santiam wagon road, 6 miles of off trail ridge running/scrambling, and 12 miles of very nice single track and 2 miles of narrow forested pavement with little traffic. The off trail sections are fairly easy to follow as they either follow ridges or go from peak to peak above tree line.  There is some pink/orange flagging is some sections that users have placed to help with route finding, though it was not necessary when the route was established. Late June to late July the loop has amazing wild flowers and water is plentiful in many locations.  Late summer has less water on the off trail sections, so carry extra water as needed.
