Route: Faial Caldeira Loop (Portugal)

This is the logical "short-course" test piece for the Azorean island of Faial. It an incredibly scenic loop around the rim of a volcanic caldera. The course is mostly singletrack and stops/starts just off a parking area with signage. Most of the the route is a part of the "Coast to Coast" trail that hosts a trail race every may.

There is a number of sub-ultra and ultra trail races that happen here every spring and fall, so the Azores see's lots of race action, but not many FKT routes.
