Description

A fun and hilly 10 miler! This route starts at the Carmel Valley Ranch Golf Course and winds up to the ridge line of Garland Park. With sweeping views of Carmel Valley, the route drops back down to Los Garzas Creek before a steep climb out and back on the ridge line just below Vasquez Knob. Continue on the ridge line before finishing at the parking lot at the start of Hitchcock Canyon Rd. This is a fantastic fast and hilly route that really takes in the Carmel Valley at it's finest and the start of Big Sur.

Start at the walkthrough gate at the entrance to Carmel Valley Ranch. Run up along the road until you cross through another gate to enter their vineyard and then exit another gate to exit the vineyard. All gates are made for passersby. Continue following the path until signs are seen pointing to the trail. Continue on the ridgeline and GPX track until arriving at the Kahn Ranch Parking area.

There is a permit required to walk out or drive up the private road to the parking area for Kahn Ranch, which is plotted on most maps. This is the link for the permit.
