Description

The route starts in Garmisch-Patenkirchen circumnavigating the Zugspitze. It crosses the Inntal and runs through the Stubaier Alps and then descends into the Ötztal. After Sölden follows a long ascent through the Ventertal and the Rofental in the Ortlergroup. From there on the route runs in Italy. After a long descend to Schlanders it enters the Stilfser Joch Nationalpark through the Martelltal. A short glaciercrossing on the Fürkeleferner and the crossing of the Fürkelescharte (3032m) mark the highest point of the route. After that follows a short section in the Adamello mountains that runs on the Sentinero No.1. This is the most technical part. Three passes have to be crossed that recquire sure-footedness and some minor climbing skills (steep, rocky terrain). The route leaves the Adamello Group behind after the Rif. Citta di Lissone and descents to the valley which it follows a long stretch to the south throuh Darfo Boario Terme. On the Lago d'Iseo it turns east again. To small passes in the forest (Passo Croce di Zone and Croce di Marone) have to be crossed before the route descends on a forest trail along the river Torrente Re with multiple rivercrossings which can be tricky if wet. From Gardone Val Trompia the route is easy to run and follows the river Fiume Mella down south to Brescia.
