Description

From Official Website:

The Glacial Lakes State Trail is located on a former Burlington Northern Railroad grade, and is generally level and wheelchair accessible. The trail is paved for 22 miles between Willmar, Spicer, New London, Hawick, and the Kandiyohi/Stearns County line. An additional 7.5 miles from Roscoe to Cold Spring is also paved. The many lakes make this area a popular tourist destination. The towns along the trail provide access points, rest stops, and other services to trail users.

This point-to-point route includes the longest continuously paved section 22 miles of the GLST between Willmar and Paynesville. It starts at the end of the paved route near Paynesville (at intersection of GLST and Roseville Road NE) and finishes in Willmar (at intersection of GLST and County Road 9 NE). The route is paved the entire way with the exception of a few gravel road crossings, and it is mostly flat with some rolling hills. There are many access points for support. You will experience farm land, prairie, thick woods, and lakes.
