Description

Start at the memorial stone at the Katrine Waterworks (OS grid ref 421091). Circumnavigate every river and stream that flows into Loch Katrine, Loch Arklet and Loch Finglas (Glasgow’s water supply). Finish back where you started. 

Terrain type: 80% unmarked open hillside, with occasional sheep and deer trods. Steep gradients in many places. Very uneven and boggy ground in places. There is a 10km section of hard gravel path between Brig O''Turk and Ben Venue beallach.

Facilities on route: A small layby where you can park up to 3 cars just above "Royal Cottage" 200m from the start at Loch Katrine Waterworks. No other facilities there. There is a tea room at Brig O'Turk (55km into the run if you go clockwise), usually open until 4pm. There are public toilets on the south shore of Loch Achray (60km into the run if you go clockwise)

 There is no public transport. The start/finish at Loch Katrine Waterworks can be accessed by car by driving through Aberfoyle then Stronachlachar (1 hour drive from central Glasgow). There are public buses to Aberfoyle, which is 13 miles from the start/finish at Katrine Waterworks
