The GR39 is a long-distance trail that crosses Brittany from north to south, linking Mont Saint-Michel to Hoscas (near Guérande) over nearly 320 kilometers.
This iconic route begins in the heart of the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel and gradually heads inland through Brittany, offering a unique immersion into the region’s diverse landscapes. It features a succession of hedgerow paths, green valleys, forests, canals, and charming villages.
Passing through Rennes, the GR39 is also a journey through Brittany’s cultural and architectural heritage. Hikers can admire castles, churches, traditional houses, and numerous remarkable natural sites. Along the way, the route reveals an authentic and preserved Brittany, far from the main tourist routes.
The trail ends in the Brière Regional Natural Park, at Hoscas.
