This is the trail to the summit of Gros Morne Mountain. At 806m it is this mountain is highest point in Gros Morne National Park, the highest trail-accessible summit in Newfoundland and the second-highest point on the island overall. It is possibly the province's most iconic hiking route.
This trail starts as an out-and-back route from the trailhead that splits into a loop over the summit. The ascent to the summit starts as a steep scramble over talus and boulders. The path continues past the summit towards the northeast side of the mountain before looping around clockwise and descending gradually through Ferry Gulch, until it rejoins the out-and-back approach trail.
