This is a simple there-and-back starting from the big ornamental gate in front of Gwanaksan Station (on the Sillim Line of the Seoul Metro). The first kilometer or so is on a paved road. Next is a stretch through the forest on stones lodged in concrete and large stones packed in dirt. This section follows the stream Dorimcheon. At the 2.8km point, it's necessary to turn left (east) and proceed along a smaller stream. At the waterfall (which is dry at some times of year), the real climb begins, up scattered stones and three sets of wooden stairs. Once up on the ridge (4.4km), it's another hard grind up some stone steps, and wooden staircase, and steps carved out of a granite slab to the top of the mountain. Scramble up to the highest rock and then head down carefully. Be respectful of hikers and tread carefully when wet or icy.
