Description

The Herriot Way is a long distance path which covers the best of the Yorkshire Dales of Wensleydale and Swaledale and the uplands which separate them. The route visits many of the places featured in the “All Creatures Great and Small” television series which was about the work and exploits of vet James Herriot. A circular route starting and ending in Aysgarth, it takes in parts of Swaledale and Wensleydale including Grinton, Keld, Askrigg and Hawes. It also boasts some of the most stunning features of the dales in Hardraw Force, Aysgarth Falls and Bolton Castle, as well, of course, open moorland and the natural landscape of the dales.
