Herz-Ass-Villgratental - ein großes, alpines Landschaftserlebnis. Die besondere Attraktion des Weges liegt in seiner Führung, mitten durch ein alpines Hochgebirge im Grenzraum zwischen Osttirol und Südtirol. Aus der Vogelperspektive betrachtet, malen die rund 50 mächtigen Gipfel der Villgrater Berge ein Herz in die Landschaft, in dessen Mitte die beiden Bergsteigerdörfer Innervillgraten und Außervillgraten liegen, ein Herz, das im Rhythmus der Ostalpen taktet. Eine gigantische Bergkulisse mit den höchsten und mächtigsten Berggipfeln Österreichs und Südtirols wie dem Großglockner, mit 3.798 m der höchste Berg der Alpenrepublik, der mächtige Gebirgsstock des Großvenedigers, die mystischen Zacken der grauen Berge, den Südtiroler Dolomiten mit den sagenhaften Drei Zinnen sowie den vom ewigen Eis bedeckten Gipfeln der Zillertaler Alpen und den Gipfeln der Goldbergruppe im Westen und Osten bilden die sagenhafte Kulisse für ein großes Wanderabenteuer im Villgratental, das Hochbelvedere ersten Ranges.

The special attraction of the trail lies in the way it leads through the middle of an alpine high mountain range in the border region between East Tyrol and South Tyrol. Seen from a bird's eye view, the 50 or so mighty peaks of the Villgrater mountains paint a heart into the landscape, with the two mountaineering villages of Innervillgraten and Außervillgraten in the middle, a heart that beats to the rhythm of the Eastern Alps. This loop is usually done counter-clockwise starting in Außervillgraten and ending at the top of the Thurntaler-Gondelbahn cable car, which takes you down to Sillian.
