The speed ascent route starts in the center of Stepantsminda and follows the classic Georgian approach to the summit of Mount Kazbek.
From the starting point in central Stepantsminda, the participant proceeds toward Gergeti and then to the Gergeti Trinity Church. From there, the route follows the traditional ascent trail toward Kazbek, passing through Saberce / Altihut and continuing to the Meteostation, located at approximately 3,650 m.
From the Meteostation, the route continues upward through the glacier zone along the standard ascent route to the summit of Mount Kazbek (5,054 m). After reaching the summit, the participant descends along the same main route.
The return follows the same line in reverse:
Kazbek Summit → Meteostation → Saberce / Altihut → Gergeti → Gergeti Trinity Church → Stepantsminda.
The route is therefore a continuous out-and-back course:
Stepantsminda → Gergeti → Saberce / Altihut → Meteostation (3,650 m) → Kazbek Summit (5,054 m) → Meteostation → Saberce / Altihut → Gergeti → Stepantsminda.
