Description

At the Lindlingalm, after about 200 m, you turn left up via Birgl to the Schusterscharte, from where you can recharge your batteries.

At Teufelssprung, after about 4 hours walking time, a short rest is recommended before you reach the probably most beautiful part of the hike, the ridge hike from Teufelssprung to Gamshag.

Up to the Gamshag at 2,178 m above sea level there is hardly any gradient to overcome and again and again one sees small mountain lakes.  To one of these picturesque mountain lakes, the Hochtorsee, one descends about 200 metres in altitude after the summit experience at Gamshag.    After a further descent to the Toralm, the marked hiking trail leads again steeply uphill to the 2095 m high Tristkogel.  Sure-footedness and a head for heights are required.  The descent from this rocky peak leads steeply down to the Saaljoch.  In return, the next summit - the Saalkogel - allows relaxed hiking again.  The last summit on the tour is the Staffkogel.  After about 8 hours you reach the valley floor again.
