Description

Named after the Victorian railway magnate George Hudson, the Hudson Way follows the disused Beverley to Market Weighton railway line through the rolling chalk landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds.

The route captures the essence of East Yorkshire’s big skies and wide valleys, while sections of tree lined track provide welcome shelter from the wind on top of the Wolds.

It passes the ancient pilgrimage site of St Hilda's Well and several former railway stations, giving a strong sense of the route's history.

With clear start and finish points in the market towns of Beverley and Market Weighton, the route is straightforward to follow and logistically simple.

The terrain features some gravel sections and old railway bridges but is predominantly grass and earth trail, making it fast and runnable in dry conditions, but more technical and testing in wet weather. This makes it a fresh challenge throughout the year.
