Description

This is a great trail starting right at the Big Eddy recreation area, just West of the swimming area. It heads north and starts with a strong climb. Then it meanders through fir, pine, and cedar forests. There are numerous deep shaded gullies. When there is southern exposure on the trail there are beautiful wildflowers. There are also several creeks and wonderful views of the reservoir.

There are several spur trails toward the water with camping spots and swimming spots. Near the northern end, there is a sustained climb leading to a long downhill on overgrown logging road down into final mile of technical singletrack ending shortly after it crosses Freeman Creek and ends at a parking area with a sign labeled Big Eddy Trail parking.
