Description

Ilse's Triple Crown (ITC) is Old Speck, Puzzle Mountain, and Rumford Whitecap back to back to back with drive time included. It’s about 20 miles with a Garmin-reported 8,350 feet of vertical.

Complete Route

  • Start with Old Speck as an out and back on the AT. Gotta climb the fire tower.
  • Drive to Puzzle Mountain and include the Woodman Spur.
  • Drive to Rumford Whitecap taking orange trail up, then yellow down including blue trail back to orange.
  • The timer starts when you hit the first trail and ends when you finish the last. Driving time included.

Apparently the actual name of this route is Ilse's Trifecta and the firetower isn't necessary to have said you've done the route. If you want the FKT, however, doing the route is recommended.
