Cerro La Polvadera is 3,738 meters high and can be accessed from the Yerba Loca Nature Sanctuary (photo 1) or from La Parva Ski Center (photo 2).
It is approximately 7 kilometers to the summit via any of the routes.
From its summit, you can see the great mountains to the north, such as La Paloma, El Altar, and El Plomo.
Whether you go via Yerba Loca or La Parva, you will find water to supply yourself, but only on the valley trail, not on the slopes or at the summit. On the west side of the hill, you will find water at the “Agua Larga” spring, and on the east side, you will find water in the Leonera ravine, which gives its name to the La Leonera estuary.
You will only find a marked trail in the valley, but once you begin the ascent on the slope, there is no visible trail. At the summit, you will find a rock cairn about 1 meter high, and on the ground, you should find the summit box, which is a tin box.
It is a beautiful mountain to introduce yourself above the 3,000-meter peaks.
