Route: The Legacy Trail

The Legacy Trail is a multi use trail between Sarasota, FL and Venice, FL.  It is a total of about 22.5 miles from the starting point at Fruitville Road in Sarasota to the southern end in Shamrock Park in Venice, FL.   The trail is a paved railway line and is very flat and straight, mostly passing behind residential areas and a variety of local parks and Oscar Scherer state park in the middle.  The trail is very well used by bikers, walkers and runners.
