Description

Lucia’s round - 22km with 1740m ascent, summiting the tops visible from Lucia’s cafe in Grasmere.

The route starts at Lucia’s cafe in Grasmere village centre before heading up Stone Arthur, Great Rigg and Fairfield, the highest point of the day, standing at 873m. Descend Fairfield towards Seat Sandal and you will get a wonderful view of Grisedale tarn (weather permitting).

After climbing Seat Sandal, there is a lovely descent down the other side, before the short climb up Helm Crag. Continue on to Easdale Tarn, one of the most popular walking routes from Grasmere.

As the tarn appears on your right, bash up through the bracken towards Blea Rigg, before a left turn down towards Swinscar Pike and Silver Howe, the last summit of the day. Descend back into Grasmere and finish at the doors of Lucia’s cafe where it all started.

The route has amazing views over Grasmere and over the Lakeland fells throughout, with 6 Wainwright summits in total.
