The climbing route is on the north face of the highest peak of the Kaçkar Mountains, which extend along the borders of the Rize and Artvin provinces in northeastern Türkiye.
The starting point for the summit trek is Kavrun Yaylası (Plateau), which is accessed via Ayder Yaylası in the Rize province. A vehicle road extends to the start of the route. Since it is a region where UTMB (Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc) events are held, trail markings are dense and useful. This mountain is one of the prominent and well-known centers of Turkish mountaineering. While rope protection is not necessary, a helmet and rigid mountaineering boots are recommended.
The route begins with a hike from the road at Kavrun Yaylacı. The climb itself begins from the campsite in the Mezovit area. Next, ascending through a steep gully covered with fluid scree, one reaches an area called "Kapı" (The Gate) at an altitude of 3,600 meters. From this point on, the climb becomes slightly more technical, featuring easy rock climbing sections that occasionally require the use of hands. The route is marked by small cairns (stone towers) and red painted arrows. Since it is a frequently used route, the risk of losing the way is low.
The rock structure of the mountain is quite loose and crumbly. Because the region has a very rainy climate, the weather conditions must be monitored carefully. Generally, the months of August and September are preferred for the most comfortable climb.
No official permit is required for the climb. However, all climbers should notify the military administration in Çamlıhemşin about their start and end dates, and the route of their climb, for potential search and rescue operations in the event of an accident. If a climb is undertaken without providing this information and an accident occurs, a fine will be imposed.
