Description

This is one of the best trail runs within Capitol Reef National Park! The views of the reef are out of this world! On the way, you bypass the turnoff for the popular Hickman Bridge trail and weave your way up the cliff bands toward Navajo Knob lookout point. There is a bit of everything- running on trail, hopping over rocks, and running on slickrock. The route is marked the entire way with cairns, though they can be hard to spot at times so keep your eyes peeled. To get to the top point itself, you have to wrap around and scramble up a very short, but not technical section. There are competitive and existing times on Strava, so to claim the FKT, you must beat these times.
