Overview:
The NE8 ("Rund um Neustadt b. Coburg") is an official, marked circular hiking trail encircling the Bavarian toy town of Neustadt bei Coburg, situated right at the border of Thuringia and near the foot of the Thuringian Forest.
Start and Finish:
The route begins and ends at the Frankenhalle / "bademehr" indoor wave pool (Address: Am Moos 2, 96465 Neustadt bei Coburg). Because it is a loop, runners can complete it in either direction.
The Route:
Covering approximately 14.8 km with gentle elevation changes (around 44 m vertical gain), the loop traverses scenic outskirts, wide valley views of the "Neustädter Kessel", quiet paved paths, and well-maintained forest and field trails before skirting the historic town center.
