A point to point traverse of the New Forest from Marchwood in the West to Ringwood in the East. A reverse route of Mark Kerry's New Forest East to West.
The route starts a Marchwood Yacht Club on Southampton Water. It then runs through the village of Marchwood towards Deersleap enclosure and into the forest. From there, the route runs through church place enclosure towards Lyndhurst. This would be a good place to get supplies of needed.
After Lyndhurst, the route goes towards Emery down then along Cut walk. Next you run through knighthwood enclosure and along the Bolderwood Arboretum Ornamental Drive on the road. The path then heads towards north then south Oakley Enclosure and Vereley Wood. Only a few more miles to go following Hightown Hill into Ringwood. Once you get to Ringwood you run to the far end of the town and the church to finish.
This route is amazing in any season and feels like you get a good view of the national park as a whole. Lots of ancient trees, Forest ponies and mud underfoot.
