Location
Morocco
Distance
348 km
Vertical Gain
13,652 m
Description

This route connects the mountain chain from the ocean of Morocco directly to the highest point of north Africa. The route is a mixture of road and trail in a formidable landscape. Main challenges are extreme heat, elevation, crew car logistics and water/salt intake.

Since 2018, and continuing as of 2026, a local guide is required for the last ~10km of this route, the ascent of Mount Toubkal. For this route only, self-supported and unsupported attempts will be considered despite the use of a guide on Toubkal, as long as the athlete accepts no supplies or other support from their required guide.
