Description

The east coast trail is a new hiking trail that stretches along the beautiful coast of eastern Gotland, from Anga prästänge in the north to Närsholm in the south. The east coast trail is marked with Orangea trail markings

The trail ties 8 parishes together and passes through 8 nature reserves. Today, the trail is 73 km long, but plans are already under way to build on new exciting environments.

It offers an opportunity to walk on foot along an easily accessible and scenic stretch of coast. And to give the hiker an opportunity to make use of our fantastic coastal nature in an easy way. You will experience ancient forest, old picturesque fishing villages, sandy beaches, pebble beaches, bird life and much more. It is as beautiful to walk here in May, with the white sips blooming in the forest as it is in September when the heat of late summer lingers in the Gotland limestone soil.

The trail is marked with orange led markings and information boards will be placed at the access points that can be reached by car. At these paintings you will also find a brochure describing the trail and what can be seen and experienced along it.
