Description

Linking Paris cathedral to Chartres cathedral.

The journey between these two cities represents a rich cultural and historical history.
The writer Charles Péguy travelled the route from Paris to Chartres twice, in 1912 and again in 1913.
Since the early 1980s, it has also been an important pilgrimage for Catholic believers, with the ‘Chartres Pilgrimage’, where hundreds of believers make the journey every year during the Whitsun weekend.
This route pays tribute to this rich history and to the architectural beauty of the two cathedrals, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
