Description

A delightful mountain loop run from Park City through Big Cottonwood Canyon and Mill Creek Canyon, including the ascent of 10, 246ft. Gobblers Knob. 95% Runnable, 100% Single Track. Start in Park City at Robs Trail, and head up to Mid Mountain-Ridge Connector, up to the Wasatch Crest. and head South on the Wasatch Crest Trail. Descend into Big Cottonwood via Desolation Lake, then over head on Desolation Trail to Dog Lake. Detour over to Gobblers Knob in the Mt Olympus Wilderness. Run down from Gobblers Knob Knob summit via Alexander Basin and up into Mill Creek (on the trail adjacent to the road) to Big Water Trailhead where you take the left fork onto Old Red Pine Rd Tr. This trail will bring to you the Wasatch Crest Trail again, and you head back to Park City via Ridge Connector and Robs. Easy to add on a few more miles to make this a 50K Ultra by adding in either Mount Raymond (technical scramble at top) Murdock Peak Summit and/or Hunters Trail (out n back extension). Dogs are NOT allowed in Big Cottonwood Canyon so please leave them at home.
