The Pewsey Vale Circular Walk is a long-distance walking route, spanning over 77 miles, that winds through the heart of the Vale of Pewsey. Set in the North Wessex Downs National Landscape, this route takes in downland, woodland, farmland, country lanes, picturesque villages and the Kennet & Avon Canal. You will encounter ancient history and experience the wildness of the downland, some of which is a national nature reserve.

The Pewsey Vale has two routes - the Walking route and the Riding/Cycling route. But the route chosen for the FKT is the Walking route. The route is waymarked, but it's recommended to carry a map or use a GPS app for navigation, as waymarkers may not be visible from each other or can be damaged or overgrown.

I’m looking to run this route clockwise on the 5th of June 2025, starting and finishing at The Crown & Anchor pub in Ham.
The plan is to do this unsupported, with fuel and supplies carried at all times in my daypack and refilling my water bladder at various churches and cemetery’s public taps on the route.
