Description

The west coast of Phuket offers stunning views of the Andaman Sea, and beautiful beaches. The route travels from the southernmost tip of Phuket at Promthep Cape to the northernmost point, on Sarasin Bridge which joins the island to the Thai mainland (or reverse). The route follows the coastal road for the majority of the route, also passing along the beach front road through Patong and at Kamala leaves the main road to pass the tsunami memorial to pay respects to the tsunami of 2001 which devastated the west coast of Thailand. Upon reaching Sirinat national park the route follows the coast on beaches and dirt trails until rejoining the main road for the final 2km to Sarasin Bridge.

This being southern Thailand, there is no time of year to complete this route where heat, humidity and sunshine will be a big part of the challenge.
