Description

Hartlepool is a town with a long maritime history and is home to the National Museum of the Royal Navy.

This routes starts at Steetley Pier on Hartlepool beach, and finishes on the beach at Blackpool near the North Pier, right in front of Blackpool Tower.

The route is a mix of road and trail and it takes you through the historic market town of Richmond, over the River Swale, through the Yorkshire Dales National Park and right through the centre of the Yorkshire Three Peaks route, past the historic Ribblehead viaduct, then on to the town of Lancaster where you can see Lancaster Castle, and cross the River Lune.

It is a challenging route due to the elevation gain through the Yorkshire Dales section of the route. Very enjoyable route, scenery is fantastic.
