Description

The Rendezvous Ridge Traverse is the perfect mix of on trail, route finding and scrambling that will challenge any mountain athlete. This traverse is roughly 10.8 miles long and roughly has 5700 feet of elevation gain. Along this route, you will have stunning views of Grand Teton National Park, Jedediah Smith Wilderness, Jackson Hole and Teton Valley Idaho as well as the Snake River, Gros Venre, Bighole and Teton Ranges. While running this route, keep an eye out for bear (black and grizzly), mountain lions, deer, big horn sheep, elk and moose. Depending on the time of year, you will be running through fields of wildflowers and traversing across some of the best runnable ridges in the area.

Description: This route starts at the popular Teton Pass parking area and is run from south to north. From the parking area, you will immediately climb the Mt. Glory summer trail where you will reach your first of 5 summits. Follow the trail to the north off of Mt Glory. When the trail splits at the Ski Lake trail junction continue north along the ridge. The trail is faint through the wooded section and you will cross a couple of boulder fields. Continue north until you reach the open meadow section where the trail will intersect with the Phillips Pass/Teton Crest Trail. Run north on the Teton Crest Trail until the trail begins to decline where you will veer east. From here you will leave the Teton Crest Trail and begin route finding your way up to Rendezvous Peak (summit 2 of 5). Continue along the ridge line where you will summit No Name Peak (summit 3 of 5), Cody Peak (summit 4 of 5) and finally Rendezvous Mountain (summit 5 of 5). This route is officially complete when you touch the high point near the newly installed wayside exhibit on top of Rendezvous Mountain. After you finish make sure to treat yourself to a Tram ride down to the base of Teton Village.

NOTE: If you stay on course you should be able to complete this traverse in a non technical fashion.
