Description

This is the most direct way to link two of the most popular refuges of the western part of Little Dolomites. It starts from Rifugio Bepi Bertagnoli (1225m) in Piatta area at Campodalbero (VI) and ends at Rifugio Mario Fraccaroli (2238m). The routes moves along historical mountain way, a mix of step single track and more regular trail path. From Rifugio Bertagnoli up to Scagine pass along the Bepi Bertagnoli route. Then up to the Zevola pass, to the Lora pass, down to Tre Croci, up again to Plische pass and down to Rifugio Scalorbi. Then a final step and scenic ascent fist to Bocchetta Mosca and then to Rifugio Fraccaoli, right below Cima Carega, the highest peak of the group, in Ala (TN). Curiosity: On this final ascent you will pass nearby a scenic griffin statue.

The route can be run in either direction, and is likely faster in the opposite direction from that described due to the net elevation change.
