'Arrieros Route' or 'Yumbos' trail' or 'Liquior Smuggling track'. In the pre-Incan period, The Yumbos (800 AD) used this trail system for trading products between the coastal and mountain regions of the country. Later this route was occupied by the Spanish conquerors, loggers, and liquor dealers hauling a liquor derived from sugar cane with caravans of oxen and mules and farmers in the area.
The current route begins in the park in Calacalí and continues through the Yunguilla Reserve, boardering farms of the locals, then in Auca it enters a patch of the virgin forest through 'culuncos' special tunnel like trails hidden in the cloud forest, exits in Maquipucuna Reserve, continuing towards Marianitas and finally ending in the park in Nanegal. In the peak of prohibition during the 1970s, a person herding a line of mules with artisanal alcohol took a full day to go from Calacalí to Nanegal and another day to return.

También conocida como los 'Culuncos Yumbos' o la 'Ruta del Contrabando de Puntas'. Un sendero ancestral preincaico utilizado por los Yumbos (800 d.C.) por trueque de productos de la costa y sierra, luego ocupados por los conquistadores españoles, madereros, traficantes de licor con caravanas de bueyes y mulas, y agricultores de la zona.
La ruta actual inicia en el parque de Calacalí, continua por la Reserva Yunguilla junto a fincas de los comuneros del lugar, luego en Auca ingresa a un parche de bosque virgen por culuncos escondidos en el bosque nublado, sale por Maquipucuna, continuando hacia Marianitas y terminando finalmente en el parque de Nanegal. En aquellos días por 1970, una persona arriando una hilera de mulas con aguardiente, se demoraba un día en ir desde Calacalí hasta Nanegal y otro día en regresar.
