Description

The Saltmarsh Coast Trail is a beautiful, flat trail that runs from South Woodham Ferrers. The trail follows the sea wall through some of Essex's most isolated areas to the historic St Peter's Chapel, reputed to be  one of the oldest intact churches in the country having been built in about 653 AD by St Cedd. The trail continues along the seawall to Maldon, one of Essex's oldest towns. Continuing around the Blackwater Estuary towards the finish at Salcott-Cum-Varley.

Brilliant run, James. Having completed the Saltmarsh 75 race, I can imagine how tough this route must be to run alone. Do you remember if there are any public water taps along the way? I don't remember any. Thanks.Â
