Description

"Sandnes - Lysebotn - Sandnes" is one of the most visited fjords in Norway, both by locals and by tourists. It contains both the world famous Prekestolen/The Pulpit Rock and Kjerag. On the route I combined the city Sandnes, the localy famous hiking area Madlandsheia and Giljastølen. Then I ran past Månafossen wich is a heavily visited big waterfall. Then I ran past several localy known hiking cabbins such as Blåfjellenden and Øygardsstølen.

From there I ran down the serpentine road (that every summer hosts a big uphill race for the international elite cross country skiers/Blink festivalen, the biggest festival in the city Sandnes) to the town Lysebotn (where all the tourist boats go) that marked the half way point for me.

From there I ran backwards the route of "Lysefjorden inn".

I then took the ferry to Lauvvik, and ran the fastest way by trail and road back to Sandnes through the Sandnes Alps that the race Sandnes Ultratrail uses a lot of.

The route ended in down town Sandnes by the harbour where I started the run.
