Route
The Senda Sursilvana Alpina is official a six-stage high-alpine long-distance hiking route through the Surselva region of Graubünden, Switzerland, running from Trun to Bargis, above Flims. Infrastructure between the individual stage destinations is very limited, and sections of the route travel through remote high-alpine terrain.
The route follows marked mountain and alpine hiking trails (white-red-white and white-blue-white) through varied high-alpine terrain, including glacial landscapes, alpine meadows, remote valleys, mountain lakes and technically demanding sections requiring sure-footedness.
This submission follows the current (2026) official route published by Surselva Tourismus and is currently the designated alternative routing due to the closure of the Cavardiras Hut. The submitted GPX track is the official GPX provided by Surselva Tourismus.
I have extended the official route from its endpoint in Bargis by adding the descent to Flims. This creates a natural finish in Flims and makes the route logistically complete, as public transport from Flims provides a connection back to Trun.
