An attractive circular run of 8 miles which is waymarked along its route. The run highlights the local history going back over 2000 years and features:

- Roman walls

- Roman Amphitheatre

- Ancient Woodland

- Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) - Silchester Common

- 16th Manor House, visited by King John May 1215 a month before he signed the Magna Carta

- Rye House build by Monks

The route is lovely mix of trails, paths and very minor roads. It has easy assess via a train station at Bramely or car parking in Silchester or the English Heritage car park by the Roman Walls. There are two public houses and a bakery on route.
