NOTE: This is for Silver Star Mtn in Okanogan County (North Cascades). There's another Silver Star in the Lewis River area (Skamania County, Southwest WA), and also a Silver Star Ski Resort near Kelowna, BC.
Silver Star Mountain (8876') provides a rewarding hiking and climbing opportunity right off Highway 20. Its majestic barren rocky spires that rise out of the forested slopes seem beyond reach but in fact the summit block is attainable, though it requires a bit of exposed scrambling after a long hike and a glacier traverse.
Chris Clark submitted a brief route outline:
Starting on Hwy 20, take the climbers trail to the "larch bench" then continue to Burgundy Col. Over the col onto Silver Star glacier to the top of Silver Star. Return the same way.
