Sinhagad, ealier known as 'Kondhana' is the most prominent and popular fort in Pune.It is located at village Donaje, taluka-Haveli. It is 25 km away from Pune on a hill 1290 m high.

The route from Sinhagad Fort to Rajgad Fort is a thrilling trail on an ancient route with a rich historical background. The same route has been used in the past as a catalyst in commuting, trading, and farming apart from being the battleground for many kings who ruled these mountains. Of these, Rajgad fort was Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja's capital in the 17th century Maratha empire. The trail is now a heritage walk, with the magnificent Sinhagad and Rajgad forts standing tall in between this route, each reflecting stories of the rich and glorious past of Pune.

The route between the two forts is rather magnificent and beautiful, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the various forts of the Maratha Empire in the Sahyadri range of Maharashtra. the trail combines the thrill of physical endurance with breathtaking beauty of Sahyadri hills.
