Description

South Dorset Ridgeway, either done from Osmington Mills to West Bexington, or vice versa. Route follows the ridge line between to two points that likes the South West Coast path, cutting off the loop around weymouth. Fairly flat with climbs at the beginning to gain the ridge line. Route runs East-West (or West-East) and is mostly bridleway, with some small tarmac sections, and some short sections of single track. 16.8mi long, with roughly 1800ft of elevation gain. Very historic route with a lot of hill forts and burial sites, as well as incredible views over Weymouth Bay, the Isle of Portland and Chesil Beach. Well signposted all the way along.
