Route: The Southern Loop of The Benton Mackaye Trail and The Appalachian Trail

This is the southern Loop formed between the Benton Mackaye Trail and the Appalachian Trail. Traveling clockwise you travel north on the BMT until reaching the intersection at Fontana Dam in North Carolina with The AT. At which point you will travel south back to the start/finish at the southern terminus of the AT on Springer Mountain in North Georgia. This is an absolutely breathtaking route that throws the most challenging and majestic features the south east United States has to offer.
