Description

The Stone Mountain Trail is an approximately 18 mile paved trail linking downtown Atlanta to Stone Mountain Park

The Stone Mountain Trail begins with the John Portman Cycle Track at Centennial Olympic Park, then continues across Piedmont Ave in downtown Atlanta, along the Freedom Parkway trail and ends at the loop around Stone Mountain. The nineteen mile-long trail does require on-street travel for almost four miles, in Candler Park and through Clarkston. The trail connects downtown Atlanta to the ML King Historic site, the Carter Center, Fernbank History Center, downtown Decatur, Stone Mountain Village, and Stone Mountain Memorial Park. The trail ends at the loop road around Stone Mountain affording travelers access to all Stone Mountain Park venues.

I've done this on a bike in the past but am planning on running this in the next month. The .kml file doesn't work anymore, and both current FKT's look like they summited Stone Mountain and ran some extra miles, however, it appears that the end of the path is on the loop road, or perhaps at the Walk-Up Trailhead. Can someone confirm where the official end of this FKT is?

Thank you.
