The Strzelecki Track is a famous outback track in South Australia, stretching approximately 475 kilometers from the remote towns of Innamincka to Lyndhurst.
The track is named after the Strzelecki Desert and was first traversed by bushman Harry Redford in 1870. Redford, also known as Captain Starlight, famously drove a herd of stolen cattle from Queensland to South Australia, pioneering this route. The track was officially named in 1845 by explorer Charles Sturt, and the area around Innamincka gained prominence due to the tragic events of the Burke and Wills Expedition.
