This course follows the modern Superior 100 Mile Trail Endurance Run course from start to end with a return to the start (or reverse). The Superior 100 Mile Trail Endurance Run is a 95% trail point-to-point ultra on the Superior Hiking Trail along the Sawtooth Mountains in Northern Minnesota following the shore of Lake Superior. Offering beautiful views of Lake Superior and inland forests as it crosses rivers cut into the ancient lava bedrock filled in with Boreal forest. The route is an out and back starting at the Gooseberry Falls State Park Visitor Center, MN travels on the rugged Superior Hiking Trail North East to Caribou Highlands Lodge in Lutsen, MN where it will turn around and return via the same route in reverse. More information about the Superior 100 route can be viewed at https://www.superiorfalltrailrace.com/100-mile-info/
Estimated at 202-208 miles long and in excess of 31,000 ft of elevation gain fitting with it's location in the Sawtooth Mountains. To the best of my research, no one has done this, while many I have spoken with are surprised it hasn't been done especially with all the interest in 200 mile challenges.
