Description

The Syndicate Track is one of the longest continuous climbs in NSW rising from~40m to ~910m in elevation. It mostly climbs through World Heritage rainforest single track in Dorrigo National Park - apart from ~700m across farmland at the start. The Syndicate Track follows the historic logging tramway that operated in the early 20th century with relics still on the trail and the history outlined on information boards.

This route starts and finishes at the gate at the end of Adams Lane at the base of the track and crosses farmland for ~700m before the bulk of the climb begins in the forest. The main climb is about 815m uphill in 4.8km at 16.8% average. The middle 3km of the climb averages over 20%. This route diverts from the actual Syndicate Track and continues along Slingsby Trail to Lanes Lookout. This is a suitable landmark and turnaround point for the route, as it leads to the edge of the escarpment with Lanes Lookout providing expansive views. Route is up and down.
