This route starts in the northern part of the state in Thomas, WV and head south on Shavers Fork Rd where, at Stuart Campground, it then begins a 1700’ climb up Bickle Knob to the observation tower. Bickle Knob Observation Tower is a historic, 4-story viewing platform situated in the Monongahela National Forest in Randolph County, West Virginia. Perched at an elevation of 4,003 feet, it offers 360-degree panoramic views extending 20 to 30 miles over the 20,000-acre Otter Creek. The ride comes down off the mountain and continues south, eventually hopping on the West Fork Rail Trail. From there, Black Mountain Road will bridge the route to Cass Scenic Railroad State Park. Cass Scenic Railroad State Park is a historic 1901 lumber town and state park in Pocahontas County, West Virginia. Famous for its authentic geared steam locomotives—Shay engines. Here, the route will continues south on the Greenbrier River Trail for approximately 78 miles until the route is complete in Caldwell, WV. The Greenbrier River Trail is a 78-mile former railroad now used for hiking, biking and horseback riding. It is the longest trail of its kind in WV.
