This classic route travels around Mt. Wilson, just a few minutes from downtown Sedona, Arizona. Due to its proximity to the training mecca of Flagstaff, many elite trail runners have run this route and the same FKT holders of the Grand Canyon’s R2R2R (Jim Walmsley and Taylor Nowlin) hold/held the fastest times. The route is special because it requires a bit of everything—undulating red rock single track, creek crossings, steep climbs and very steep descents, a fast, flat section of road, and a highly technical finish.
18.69 miles; 3,984' vertical gain.
